Michelle Yeoh is getting the spotlight she deserved and we're all rooting for it!
The acting legend was one of the celebrity guests on The Graham Norton Show recently, where she hilariously opened up on her 1983 "Miss Malaysia" win and awkward dating experience in her youth- both of which had something to do with her mother.
As Norton posed the question to Yeoh about the former, she quipped "technically, I'm not legit"- referring that it was her mother who had submitted the application for the contest, unbeknownst to Yeoh in the first place.
But the despite her initial unwillingness, she mustered up the courage to heed her mother's advice and eventually WON. Speaking of the glorious moment, it didn't take long for Yeoh to admit that she simply did it to "shut" her mother up.
That's what we call mothers know best!
