The Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan in Perak has suddenly become a controversial site, after a group of individuals were seen parading and waving the China flag in a “cultural celebration” last night.

According to a statement released by the Perak Police Chief Datuk Azizi Mat Aris, it’s understood that the procession was held without a permit.

He further noted that the case will be thoroughly investigated, as displaying a foreign national emblem in public areas is strictly prohibited.

Following the incident, the Chairman of Malaysia’s Guan Gong Cultural Association has expressed his deepest regrets, citing that the act was not part of the organizers’ planning.

Enraged netizens have called the sight appalling, with many urging the government to implement severe action to those attempting in dividing the country’s harmony.
