Recently, prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has attended a Pongal ceremonial gathering in Klebang, Perak, a Hindu Harvest Festival typically celebrated by the Tamil community all around the world.
During that event, he took the opportunity to reveal his hidden talent of singing and dancing to a classic Tamil song, Naan Aanaiyitaal made popular by late legendary M. G. Ramachandran. The moment was uploaded to social media platform TikTok by user @tniii.ii and it quickly garnered more than half a million views and more than 39K likes.
A little trivia: Naan Aanaiyitaal is the name of an 1966 Indian Tamil-language action film in which the song was featured. During that era, M. G. Ramachandran was the most popular actor in Kollywood and perhaps our PM too, is a fan of his.
