A recent video circulating on social media has ignited a heated debate among netizens regarding the boundaries of a teacher's role in sharing their daily life on platforms like TikTok.
The video in question shows a teacher conducting a spot check of students' school bags in their absence. In the footage, the teacher can be seen rummaging through the bags and even consuming candy snacks found inside.

The video quickly drew criticism from netizens, who questioned the appropriateness of conducting spot checks without the presence of students.
Many expressed their concerns over the invasion of privacy and argued that such actions should only be carried out with proper consent and supervision.
Outraged netizens reshared the video on Twitter after it was deleted from TikTok, and some even reached out to the Minister of Education, Fadhlina Siddiq, seeking her opinion on the matter.
However, as of now, there has been no official statement from any party regarding the incident.
Defenders of the teacher argue that she may have obtained consent from the student's parents beforehand and emphasize her positive impact on her students.
They praise her teaching approach, which aligns with gentle parenting and encourages out-of-the-box thinking. They caution against attacking her, as it could negatively affect the students who adore her.
A parent from the school has come forward and mentioned that consent forms are provided to allow students to appear on social media for school promotions. However, the OP claimed that the teacher did not state anywhere in her profile that she was producing content for the school. The OP said, "When the school produces content, it is posted on the school's social media account."
While some understand the OP's perspective, those who have been following the teacher on social media for some time know that she has addressed the issue of consent in the past. It is also known that the school has encouraged her and possibly hired her for marketing purposes, so she wears two hats as both a teacher and a marketing person.
The debate further escalated when netizens questioned the motives of the original poster (OP) and suggested that she report the incident to the relevant authorities, such as the Private Education Division.
However, the OP responded by challenging them to make the report themselves, leading many to question her commitment to pursuing an official resolution as she was the one who initially sparked the debate.
But regardless, many have said that it's best to DM the teacher personally and let her know the public's concerns about the safety of her students.
