Anyone who is familiar with Sunway Pyramids parking knows that the new system no longer needs us to acquire a parking ticket in order to access the lot. It will automatically detect our licence plate number and that there are a few options to make payment later.

1. We enter our licence plate number into the mall's autopay machines and make payments.

2. We scan the QR code that can be found at any parking lot pillar, enter the plate number, and pay with Grab or a credit/debit card.

3. Just tap our TouchNGo card with sufficient balance while exiting.

However, there's a good chance you've encountered incidents when you needed to call the guard to help you exit the parking lot because the system couldn't detect your licence plate number. Imagine the fear there are cars backed up behind you and you're stuck.

This one driver took advantage of the opportunity to try out an alternative exit without calling a guard.

Because the parking sensor failed to recognize the car's front plate number, he backs up and exits the parking lot using the rear plate number instead.

Funny thing is, it actually worked!
