Donald Trump said his mother had a "crush" on a young Prince Charles as he welcomed the King and Queen to the White House during their US state visit on Tuesday (28 April).
The US president described hosting Charles and Camilla as a “tremendous privilege,” Charles and called His Majesty a “very elegant man”, whom his mother, Mary, thought was "so cute."
"She really did love the family, but I also remember her saying very clearly, ‘Charles, look young Charles, he’s so cute',” Trump said.
Trump also praised the late Queen Elizabeth II as a “very special woman."
