Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s biggest corruption scandal involving RM130 million that was meant to improve the State’s chronic water supply problem – but which after seven years the courts have yet to find anyone guilty – was raised in the just-ended State Legislative Assembly sitting.
Moyog Assemblyman and Parti Warisan Deputy President Datuk Darell Leiking asked if corruption and power abuse in the Water Department and SESB were the reasons Sabahans, particularly in Penampang, continue to suffer consistent dry taps and blackouts.
He said the public even had a name for SESB which is “Sabah Electricity Selalu (Always) Blackout”
