
KOTA BELUD: Police are hunting four men who assaulted and robbed a watermelon farmer in Kg Batu Gadung, Jalan Tamau, Wednesday.
In the incident, the 24-year-old victim sustained serious injuries, while cash amounting to RM10,000 and his mobile phone were stolen by the unidentified suspects.
AdvertisementDistrict Police Chief, Supt Shahrudin Mat Husain, said authorities received information about the incident at 4pm. He said the victim, a watermelon farmer, is receiving further treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (HQE) in Kota Kinabalu.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was assaulted and robbed by four men, resulting in severe head injuries, believed caused by a blunt object,” he said.

“Police are actively working to identify and track down the individuals involved. “We urge any witnesses with information regarding the suspects to come forward and assist in the investigation by visiting the District Police Headquarters (IPD) or contacting the investigating officer, Inspector Izhafizan Haron, at 014-6318003,” he said.
