Kota Kinabalu: “We are ready,” declared Sabah Umno Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin Monday following the dissolution of the State Assembly earlier Monday.
Bung said the coalition’s groundwork had been long in motion, with all divisions, wings and district operations already mobilised.
“We are not waiting for tomorrow. Our preparations have long been underway. The machinery of Umno-BN is now at the highest level of readiness,” he said.
He stressed that Umno and BN’s wealth of governing experience would serve as a vital advantage. “This experience is our greatest asset, allowing every team, candidate and leader to perform their duties in an organised and effective manner,” Bung said.
The Umno Sabah chief also took aim at the ruling Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government, accusing it of failing to deliver meaningful development.
Bung cited slow economic progress, limited job opportunities and inconsistent state policies as examples of shortcomings under GRS leadership.
“The people have witnessed firsthand the failures of GRS in managing the economy, investment and state development. Many areas remain underdeveloped and job opportunities are scarce.
He vowed that BN’s campaign would focus on offering practical solutions and restoring stability.
“We are confident the people of Sabah will make a wise choice to support a party and candidates who can bring genuine and positive change,” he said.
