KOTA BHARU: The Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) did not interfere in the decision to return former Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said his office was responsible only for providing legal advice, while the matter involving Mohd Shuhaily was an administrative decision for the ministry.
“We have not given an official opinion because the matter has not been referred to the AGC. It is simply an administrative action by KDN (Home Ministry), so we will not interfere.
“Whether Datuk Mohd Shuhaily wants to remain there or be transferred back to the PDRM, we will not interfere… that is more of an administrative matter,” he told reporters after the opening ceremony for the handover of the Kampung Angkat MADANI (KAM) AGC 2026 Recreational Infrastructure at Taman Pinggiran Warisan, Kampung Kok Lanas, here today.
On Thursday, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said Mohd Shuhaily had returned to duty with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) following a decision made last week.
