JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 25 - A weak earthquake measuring 3.1 magnitude struck the waters off Batu Pahat, Johor, at 4.12pm today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the epicentre was located at coordinates 1.7° north and 102.8° east, about 18km south-west of Batu Pahat.
“The quake was recorded at a depth of 10km.
“There is no tsunami threat to Malaysia,” it said in a statement issued today by the MetMalaysia National Weather and Earthquake Operations Centre.
