Ridwan urged the people to always remember the precautionary measures if another earthquake happens in the future and to give priority to personal safety as well as those closest to them.

“Residents of Ranau, especially in the Kundasang area, are advised to always be alert in case of tremors, get out of structures to an open area, not to panic and report to the fire department if there is destruction of property and human casualties,” he said.

Ridwan urged the people to immediately report to the Ranau fire department at 088-878779 in the event of an earthquake that affects property and lives.

The incident on Thursday brings back memories of a magnitude 6 quake on June 5, 2015 that struck Ranau that took 18 lives.
