Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah FA women’s football team’s new jersey for the 2025 National Women’s League competition in the new season was unveiled at the Fut8 Padang Kontena, here on Friday.

The attires are named “MyHome” and “MyTeam”.

The launching was officiated by Sabah Football Association (Safa) President Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, who is also the deputy Chief Minister.

“This jersey is not just clothing on the pitch, but a symbol of our determination, fighting spirit and togetherness in lifting Sabah women’s football to the pinnacle of success,” he said.

He also hoped the team, who finished runners-up last season after winning the title a year earlier, will make a stronger impact this season.

Meanwhile, team manager Muhd Arziz Afizy Rumsani said the launch of the jersey symbolises a fresh start and renewed enthusiasm for the team ahead of the opening match against Kelana United away on July 19.

“The launch of the jersey today is an important step to boost the team’s morale. This new jersey not only provides comfort to the players, but also serves as an identity and pride to bring the name of Sabah on the national stage.

“Hopefully, the players would appear more confident, prepared and disciplined in their mission to win the championship this season,” he said.
