The finale sees Wednesday navigate a labyrinth where betrayals, supernatural battles and mysteries lurk in every corner. From Enid’s devastating sacrifice to jaw-dropping revelations about Isaac Night, we unpack all the details of the rollercoaster ending of Wednesday season 2.
Directed by Tim Burton, the Wednesday season 2 finale has been described by the showrunners as a satisfying conclusion that leads to more mysteries. Wednesday season 2 ending explained: Who is Isaac Night?
Season 2, Part 2 of the Netflix original wastes no time revealing one of its biggest twists: Pugsley’s beloved pet zombie Slurp is actually Isaac Night (played by Owen Painter), the brother of Francoise Galpin (played by Frances O’Connor) and uncle to Tyler Galpin.
After Isaac abducts Pugsley, Morticia and Wednesday (who is still stripped of her psychic powers) seek help from Grandmama Frump, who, like Wednesday, is a Raven.
Soon, a vision takes Wednesday back to her parents’ past, unearthing a secret they had buried under the Skull Tree.
As students, Gomez and Morticia had been drawn into Isaac’s dangerous experiment, a machine designed to cure Francoise of her monstrous Hyde transformations. To fuel it, Isaac deceived Gomez, exploiting his natural electricity and pushing him to the brink of death. Unbeknownst to Francoise, Isaac had even dug Gomez’s grave beneath the Skull Tree, preparing to sacrifice his best friend for the experiment’s success.
However, Morticia’s intervention sabotaged the machine, sparking a catastrophic explosion. Francoise survived, but Isaac perished. With Augustus Stonehurst threatening them, since he had secretly funded Isaac’s lab, Morticia and Gomez concealed the truth, fearing they would be accused of murder. The couple then buried Isaac beneath the Skull Tree, in the very grave he had once prepared for Gomez.
What is the origin of Thing?
After uncovering the truth about Isaac’s past and his thirst for revenge, Wednesday resolves to hunt him down. Before she can act, however, Isaac sends her a midnight invitation to meet. At the rendezvous, Wednesday secretly instructs Thing to attack him, but Tyler captures her loyal companion. Isaac then unveils another shocking secret: Thing was always a part of him. He explains that when Morticia severed his right hand during the lab explosion years ago, the surge of energy animated it and made it its own entity.
Reattaching Thing to himself, Isaac declares he is finally “complete” and immediately uses his powers to attack Wednesday. He then buries her alive beneath the Skull Tree, in the same cursed ground that is tied to his past.
Are Enid and Agnes able to save Wednesday?
Yes, they are.
After Isaac buries Wednesday and leaves for his old lab located within Nevermore Academy, Agnes (played by Evie Templeton) arrives, having secretly followed them. She witnesses what Isaac has done but is unable to free Wednesday on her own. She quickly alerts Enid, and together the two attempt to dig her out — but in their human forms, it proves impossible. With time running out, Enid suggests transforming into her werewolf state to claw through the earth. Agnes warns her that, as an alpha, transforming under the full moon could mean she may never return to her human form. Even so, Enid refuses to let Wednesday die. She embraces the risk, transforms and uses her strength to save her friend.
Wednesday survives, but Enid vanishes into the woods in her werewolf form, unable to change back.

Yes, they do.
Isaac, Tyler and Francoise arrive at Nevermore, where Isaac quickly reconstructs his machine, this time accelerated by the powers he regained after reattaching Thing. He plans to harness a power source strong enough to extract Francoise’s Hyde powers and help her lead a normal life. To do that, he needs Pugsley’s electricity.
Meanwhile, Gomez, Morticia and Wednesday race to Nevermore to rescue Pugsley. There, they uncover Isaac’s true plan. Rather than extracting the Hyde powers from Francoise, he restrains Tyler. Francoise then admits that, while it is too late for her to be saved, Isaac can still give her son a chance at a normal life. Tyler, however, refuses, defiantly insisting they have no right to strip him of his Hyde identity.
Soon, Wednesday intervenes. Sabotaging the machine, she frees Tyler and then Pugsley. Enraged, Tyler transforms into his Hyde form and lashes out, attacking Isaac and then, tragically, his own mother. Francoise also transforms, battling her son in a violent clash. Amid the chaos, the unstable equipment erupts, triggering an explosion. In a heart-wrenching moment, Francoise makes the conscious choice to fall to her death from atop the Nevermore building, even as Tyler desperately tries to save her.
Does Issac meet his end?
Yes, he does.
After the explosion, Wednesday regains consciousness to find her father desperately pulling his wife from the rubble. Morticia stirs back to life, and just as the family prepares to leave, Isaac emerges from the wreckage.
Consumed by rage and grief, he strikes at Wednesday. But before he can kill her, Thing seizes control of Isaac’s body. In a shocking reversal, Isaac is forced to battle against his own hand until Thing delivers the fatal blow from within. Once Isaac collapses lifeless to the ground, Thing separates from his body and quietly returns to the Addams family, finally free.
What happens to Tyler?
As Tyler mourns the loss of his mother, Professor Capri (played by Billie Piper) approaches him at the graveyard. She tells Tyler that he cannot survive alone for long and reveals the existence of a hidden support system for Hydes like him. Capri explains that he can be part of a pack bound together by loyalty, free from the control of a single master, and that her own father was a Hyde.
The offer leaves Tyler conflicted. For the first time, someone recognises his nature without trying to erase it. The scene closes on his uncertain expression, leaving his future and potential alliance with Capri’s secret Hyde pack hanging in the balance.
Does Wednesday regain her psychic abilities?
Yes, she does.
Throughout season 2 of the supernatural mystery series, Wednesday pressed Morticia for Aunt Ophelia’s journal, convinced it held the key to strengthening her abilities. Morticia, however, withheld it, believing her daughter first needed to mend the strained bond between them. Only in the final moments does Morticia finally entrust the journal to her. With it, and with Weems now appearing as her spirit guide, Wednesday understands that reconciliation with her mother was the true first step. As their bond is restored, her psychic powers surge back.
Where did Enid go after saving Wednesday?
Enid’s fate takes a mysterious turn after she saves Wednesday. Realising she cannot return to her human form, she vanishes into the woods.
In the ending moments of season 2, Agnes tells Wednesday that a wildlife camera captured Enid in her wolf form, heading north, five miles from the Canadian border.
Wednesday season 2 ending explained: What happens in the final moments?
As her second year at Nevermore ends, Wednesday decides not to return home. Instead, she sets out with Uncle Fester, heading north on a mission to find Enid. The mystery of her friend’s fate becomes Wednesday’s next obsession, driving her into unknown territory.
Before the credits roll, Wednesday experiences another vision, this time of Aunt Ophelia. The scene then shifts to Grandmama Frump as Lurch (played by Joonas Suotamo) leads her into a hidden chamber. In a shadowy room, Ophelia is seen writing “Wednesday must die” in blood.
The season closes with Wednesday’s vow to unravel every secret, no matter the cost, as a one-eyed crow flies across the sky.
