Weighing device for Lahad Datu hospital

LAHAD DATU: The Lahad Datu Chinese Chamber of Commerce has donated an advanced digital infant weighing device to the district hospital’s Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department to support the measurement of newborns’ weight and length.

President of Lahad Datu Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Tan Cheng Teng led the Lahad Datu Guan Di Ancient Temple Unit, a sub-committee of the chamber, in delivering the device to the department on Wednesday.

The device was installed at the department by temple unit chief Lee Yee Ye, deputy chief Chung Vui Siong and Welfare Committee member Chua Soon Chang.

Following the installation, Tan formally handed over the device to Dr Nur Azirah.

The addition of the new equipment means the department now has two infant weighing devices to assist healthcare staff in monitoring newborns.

The department also has 10 individual rooms for mothers and their newborns, providing greater privacy and comfort for patients during their stay.

The facility is the only hospital in Sabah currently offering individual rooms of this kind for mothers and their newborns.
