A 50-year-old welder lost his life after an explosion occurred while he was repairing the diesel tank of a pick-up at a workshop on the Lohian-Makhu National Highway in Jalandhar district, triggering panic on the premises and causing extensive damage.

The deceased has been identified as Jaswant Singh, a resident of Raiwala village.
