West Ham boss David Moyes admits Jarrod Bowen's long-term position could be as striker.

Bowen didn't get on the scoresheet for victory at Arsenal on Thursday.

But Moyes said: "Jarrod is learning his trade and there are parts that he doesn't do that an out-and-out number nine does. But whenever we go to buy a striker they are too expensive or we can't get one and there aren't many around.

"He played a bit at centre-forward for Hull. I can tell, I can see it in his eyes, he has that smell of the goal. I think he is probably disappointed to not get his goal. he is starting to get that look in his eye that he wants to score. He is a great finisher and he is a lot braver than people give him credit for."

He added: "The injuries will always play a part. I don't think we have a great lot of cash. January is never an easy window. We need to see how the window is. It will be a loss for us with Mohammed Kudus going to the Africa Cup of Nations. He has been brilliant for us."
