West Ham boss David Moyes admits they need to attack more after defeat at Tottenham.
The visitors drew a blank as Spurs won 2-0 on Sunday.
Moyes later said: "Some good stuff in the first half, I enjoyed watching us. Start of the second half we rolled the ball back to the goalkeeper, we played slowly, made a couple of mistakes that we got away with and I think we gave Tottenham encouragement to come on to us a bit more but it's a poor defeat for us, we expected to get something from this game but a couple of defensive lapses were the difference.
"We changed slightly to try and tactically give ourselves the best chances not to concede any goals. I think in the first half we were a bit open and when you leave it open for Tottenham, they are so good on the counter attack. Any scraps like the second goal, Kane gets a scrap, outplays the centre half and plays the pass through to Son for the goal.
"We were quite compact, stopped them getting through and I think we did better in the first half. We allowed them to play a little bit more through us in the second half. We went backwards when we didn't need to, we had to go chasing it a little bit. I just thought that started to open up some spaces.
"I'm trying to find ways of getting more goals, more shots, more attempts on goal. Jarrod Bowen has a half chances after they score and maybe could have made it 1-1 and started to change the look of it but we are not making enough chances. We're hoping Dany Ings will come up with some goals for us. We have got to hope that Benrahma, Antonio and Bowen come up with the good because we are lacking in that area. We still try to be a threat but we are not as big a threat as we have been.
"I told the players that we did a good enough job at times today. we had a lapse in defence, it was a terrible pass to allow Davies to get on it and it should be easily cut out by the centre halves. We needed to grow into the game. Recently we have not been scoring loads so what you can't afford to do is concede a goal and we can concede one but the minute they score the second one, we made it doubly difficult.
"Our results are key, we keep going, we've been feeling better about our performances and even today, we did some things which weren't good which I agree with. There are bits of it I want to build on and hope that we take it in. The players have been challenged now, let's see who's up for the fight."
