West Ham defender Emerson Palmieri has been called up by Italy coach Roberto Mancini.
Mancini has turned to the Euro2020 winner after an injury suffered by Inter Milan defender Fede Dimarco.
Dimarco sustained a minor injury during Sunday's 1-0 loss at San Siro and underwent exams in Coverciano this morning.
Results have shown Dimarco will need to rest over the next few days.
Italy will face England and Malta in the coming week as their Euro2024 qualifiers kickoff.
