The two clubs agreed a 30m fee for Maguire, but the deal collapsed over personal terms.
Maguire would move to West Ham on 120,000-a-week, but the move fell through after he failed to agree on a golden handshake with United.
United offered Maguire a 6m payoff to leave - but it fell short of his demands.
However, West Ham are trying again and hope United can up their offer to Maguire to smooth his exit, says The Sun.
