West Ham are set to appoint a director of football in the summer to revamp the way they sign players.

The Hammers believe that many of their issues are related to recruitment and not the quality of manager David Moyes or his coaching staff.

Per The Guardian, the Hammers will look at various top candidates from around Europe for the appointment.

The outlet is stating that former Liverpool man Michael Edwards could be in line for the post, given he has not worked since leaving the Anfield club.

The source adds that manager Moyes is content with the decision to take away some of his control on transfers.

He is aware that the club needs to sharpen its recruitment to ensure they do not endure another relegation battle next season.
