Westlife has given an update on bandmate Mark Feehilly as the musician takes a step back from the group’s 25th anniversary tour.
In 2020, the 45-year-old contracted sepsis following a routine surgery, before being diagnosed with pneumonia in 2021. He has since undergone several major operations.
Appearing on BBC Breakfast on Monday (11 May), Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, and Kian Egan said that Feehilly is “taking a step back at the moment”.
“He’s on the new music, which is great, he’s on “Chariot” obviously as well, but no, not with us on this one,” said Filan, who said that the 45-year-old “sends his love” to all the fans.
