KOTA MARUDU: Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Malaysia (KDM) Deputy President Datuk Wetrom Bahanda confirmed he will contest the Matunggong state seat in the upcoming 17th State Election (PRN17), shifting from Bandau to his hometown following grassroots requests.

Wetrom, also MP for Kota Marudu, said he remains confident the people of Matunggong want change, as shown in GE15 when he defeated then-PBS President Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili.

Meanwhile, KDM has confirmed it will contest 36 seats in PRN17, with several more under consideration.

Wetrom stressed the party will go solo in the election.
