Kota Kinabalu: A whale shark was caught on video awing Chinese tourists boating off Gaya Island today.

"It slowly went around our boat,” said Borneo Exotika Adventure Sdn Bhd's manager, Sebastian K.

He was escorting the group of Chinese tourists when the sighting occurred, the second after last week's encounter off Tanjung Aru.

“The islands of Kota Kinabalu are well protected, we believe this might be why whale sharks and beautiful sea creatures come close to say hello to our tourists, this time accompanied by a newborn,” Sebastian told Daily Express.
