What’s the weather forecast for Bank Holiday weekend? Everything we know

  • Rain and strong winds are forecast across the UK from Wednesday to Monday, threatening a wash out for the Bank Holiday weekend.
  • Yellow thunderstorm warnings are in place on Wednesday and Thursday for large parts of England and Wales, with risks of widespread lightning and hail, according to the Met Office.
  • The forecaster warned that 20 to 30mm of rain could fall in three hours, with up to 50mm expected over 12 hours in some regions on Thursday.
  • The Met Office has forecast 70 per cent rain coverage in London and Manchester on Saturday, while Cardiff is forecast to see 90 per cent rain coverage.
