- What’s going to happen? The Moon will turn a dramatic coppery red colour as the Earth's atmosphere filters out blue light and scatters red light onto the lunar surface.
- Will any special equipment be needed to view the eclipse? No, though observers are advised to find a location with a clear view facing south-west.
- Because the eclipse occurs while the Moon is low on the horizon, it will appear significantly larger and more spectacular than usual.
