- The fullest solar eclipse for the next 50 years will appear over the UK today, with over 90 per cent of the Sun obscured by the Moon across the whole of the UK.

- Will there be a total eclipse Manchester? In Manchester, 91.40 per cent of the sun will be obscured by the moon. Because the sun won’t be completely covered, this is known as a partial solar eclipse.
- Eclipse start time in Manchester: It will start at around 6.13pm, with peak coverage set to be around 7.10pm.
- Where to watch: Viewpoints such as Heaton Park, Jodrell Bank, Holcombe Hill, Barton Aerodrome and Rivington have been earmarked as the best places to see the eclipse.
