- A man killed his partner and their child in an apparent murder-suicide inside a home daycare in Hopkins, Minnesota on Wednesday.
- Six other "very, very young" children were present at the daycare were unharmed and have been safely reunited with their families, Hopkins Police Chief Brent Johnson said.
- Police were alerted by a parent who arrived to drop off a child at the daycare as they witnessed the attack begin to unfold.
- “There’s no worse scenario than this, where you drop off your child somewhere you think is safe, and you get that phone call,” Johnson said at a news conference.
- Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey publicly offered assistance and condolences to the Hopkins community following the tragedy.
