- Ten people, including two Albanian nationals, have been detained following the arrival of a migrant vessel at Mylor Harbour near Falmouth in Cornwall shortly before 3am on Sunday.
- Devon and Cornwall Police arrested the two Albanian nationals on suspicion of immigration offences after witnesses reported seeing several people disembarking from the boat and leaving the harbour in a van.
- Eight additional arrests linked to the vessel were subsequently carried out in a separate police force area, whilst an individual believed to be under 18 has been referred to social services.
- Immigration Enforcement is currently leading the ongoing investigation into the landing, which the Home Office characterised as an isolated and rare incident.
- The Cornwall arrival came hours before a tragic Channel crossing on Monday where a 10-year-old child and two women died from suspected crushing, as well as recent uncontrolled landings that led Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to order an urgent review.
