- The UK Government has announced 80 new youth hubs across the country to help young people aged 16-24 find employment.
- Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden launched the initiative in Glasgow, where he also opened Scotland's first youth guarantee jobs fair.
- The hubs aim to tackle the nearly one million young people currently out of work or education, a figure that has quadrupled since 2021.
- Each hub will provide comprehensive support, including jobcentre services, mental health and housing assistance, skills training, and direct links to employers.
- The expansion is part of a £2.5 billion investment, which includes a £3,000 youth jobs grant for employers and is expected to create 200,000 jobs and apprenticeships.
