A map shows the expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) which will impact all London boroughs from 29 August 2023.

The area in which drivers pay £12.50 if their vehicles do not meet emissions standards will grow to include London’s outer boroughs.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has launched a £110 million scrappage scheme to help people prepare for the expansion.

ULEZ exemptions will be in place until 2025 for community transport vehicles and until 2027 for people receiving certain disability benefits and vehicles for people with disabilities.

However, there has been considerable pushback against the policy, with Labour calling on its own mayor to delay the expansion.
