Following the recent comebacks of GOT7 and BIGBANG, K-pop fans are wondering if it will be the second generation K-pop group 2PM next. The six-member boy group debuted in 2008 under JYP Entertainment and last released their seventh studio album, MUST, in June 2021. Whether they are releasing solo music or acting in K-dramas, check out where the members of 2PM are now.

Originally a septet, 2PM also included Jaebeom (now known professionally as Jay Park), who left the group in 2009. A popular solo artist now, Jay Park courted controversy for some online comments he made that were considered critical of South Korea shortly after 2PM’s debut. Following a major backlash from the public, he announced his departure from the K-pop group. Before his exit, Park was the leader of 2PM. Currently, the group is comprised of members Jun. K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, and Chansung.

While all members of the group are active and busy with solo activities, the band has not announced any comeback plans as of now. From Taecyeon’s engagement rumours to Junho facing an untoward incident at his recent fan meeting, let us catch up with all the 2PM members and what they are up to now.

2PM members: Where are they now?

Jun.K, Kim Min-jun

Jun.K dons many hats as he is a well-known singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer, dancer, and actor. Better known as the main vocalist of 2PM, the singer, originally Kim Jun Su, later legally changed his name to Kim Min Jun and is professionally known as Jun.K. Besides contributing to 2PM, the K-pop idol has also had a successful solo career and so far has released nine extended plays and eleven singles. Besides becoming a big name in the South Korean entertainment industry, Jun.K has also created a massive fanbase in Japan with the release of Japanese albums, including Love Letter, No Shadow, No Time, and This Is Not a Song. His third Japanese solo album also topped the charts and was ranked second on the Billboard Japan.

Currently, he is on a solo tour titled “O/N”, which took place in the Japanese cities of Nagoya and Osaka. While Jun.K’s solo achievements are indeed amazing, his contributions to the success of 2PM are no less, considering he co-wrote the group’s biggest hit “My House”, which released in 2015. He also wrote and composed the title tracks “Go Crazy” and “With Me Again.”

Nichkhun, Nichkhun Buck Horvejkul

There is an interesting story on how this Thai-American rapper made his way into 2PM. While appearing on Eric Nam’s Dive Studios podcast, the K-pop idol revealed how a JYP Entertainment executive scouted him in Los Angeles and that, funnily enough, he gave his audition for the group at a Starbucks outlet while singing O-Town’s “All or Nothing.” Despite having no background in singing or dancing, Nichkhun moved to South Korea in  2006 for training and even became the first non-ethnic Korean trainee at the company. After training at the company for four years, he debuted with 2PM and, since then, has been among the most popular K-pop idols to come out of the second generation.

After 2PM went on a hiatus in 2017 as his fellow members enlisted to complete their mandatory military service, Nichkhun used this time to dabble in solo activities, which included the release of his album Me. He also took up acting projects in movies and TV shows, including his Hollywood debut, The Modelizer (2023), Arthdal Chronicles (2019), Brother of the Year (2018), and Big Hero 6: The Series (2020). He also famously made a cameo in fellow 2PM member Ok Taecyeon’s Netflix show Vincenzo, along with the group’s youngest member Chansung. Nichkhun is also known to appear in variety shows, and currently, he is starring in School Lunch Attack It’s MEP Time!, where a celebrity crew takes on the mission to drive a food truck around Thailand, surprising students with instant noodle dishes.

Lee Jun-ho

While some may recognise him as the dreamy lead of K-dramas like King the Land and The Red Sleeve, Lee Jun-ho first burst onto the South Korean entertainment scene as the main vocalist and lead dancer of 2PM. Jun-ho is a man of many talents and has helped write and compose tracks for 2PM. He first turned to music production with “Give It To Me”, which appeared in the band’s Hands Up album. Besides group activities, as a soloist, he has released two Korean studio albums, two Japanese albums, one Korean extended play, and seven Japanese extended plays. While his musical roster is impressively full, his acting projects haven’t been far behind. His performance in The Red Sleeve (2021) even earned him the Baeksang Arts Award for Best Actor. His other most-watched K-dramas include Wok of Love, Just Between Lovers, and Good Manager.

Jun-ho’s 2023 romance drama, King the Land, became widely popular, with fans falling head over heels in love with his character of Gu-won and, even more, his crackling chemistry with co-star Yoona. The duo also sparked dating rumours following the release of the show however, their agencies denied the speculations. Beyond music and acting, Jun-ho has also made a name for himself in the fashion world and is currently the global ambassador of the luxury watch brand Piaget. He was recently also named as the Korean ambassador for French luxury brand Berluti.

In 2025, Jun-ho kicked off his Midnight Sun fan concert tour with a series of shows that included stops in Incheon, Tokyo, Taipei, and São Paulo. A moment from his Brazil visit recently sparked outrage online after the K-pop idol was inappropriately touched by a fan. Netizens called out the untoward behaviour of the fan who showed complete disregard for the singer’s consent despite his polite reaction.

Apart from the tour, he also has several K-dramas lined up for 2025, including Cashero and Typhoon Company. In another major announcement, JYP Entertainment recently also announced that Lee Jun-ho has parted ways from the label after 17 years.

Taecyeon, Ok Taec-yeon

The South Korean singer, rapper, and actor recently sent netizens into a frenzy over speculations about his engagement. The 2PM member went viral after photos of him seemingly proposing to his girlfriend in front of the Eiffel Tower surfaced on the internet. While the K-pop idol has been in a long-term relationship with his non-celebrity girlfriend, he has kept his relationship private. After the recent photos suggested the couple’s engagement, his agency later confirmed that the ring was simply a birthday gift for his girlfriend and that the actor has no immediate marriage plans.

Before becoming one of the most famous K-pop idols in the world, Taecyeon appeared on the Mnet show Hot Blood Men in 2008. The show followed the training of 13 trainees to become part of the larger group One Day. However, One Day was later split into two groups, 2AM and 2PM, with Taecyeon joining 2PM. He serves the role of the main rapper in the group, and while he left JYP Entertainment in 2018 to sign with 51K, the singer continues to be a part of 2PM. During his mandatory military service, Taecyeon earned the moniker “Captain Korea” because his strong physique during his military service period mirrored the Marvel superhero, Captain America.

Taecyeon has released several solo singles and EPs, but his acting projects have gained him a bigger popularity over them. From playing the lead villain in Song Joong-ki’s Vincenzo to making a cameo in Netflix’s XO Kitty Season 1, Taecyeon has gained a global fan base as an actor. Branching beyond the South Korean entertainment industry, Taecyeon recently also starred in a Japanese film, La Grande Maison Paris, which was released in December 2024. He will also appear in the Japanese drama Soulmate, which is set for a 2025 release.

Wooyoung, Jang Woo-young

The lead vocalist and main dancer of 2PM, Wooyoung, has remained active as a solo performer and also appeared in several Korean variety shows amid the group’s hiatus since the release of their last album in 2021. He made his solo debut in 2012 with the mini album 23, Male, Single. Considering 2PM has been particularly popular in Japan because of their commercial success in the Japanese market, Wooyoung recently held a fan meeting in Japan, following his Off the Record tour held there in 2023. Amid 2PM’s ongoing break, Wooyoung also became a part of Netflix Korea’s biggest variety show, Screwballs, which premiered in February 2025 and features him alongside Kim Sook, Hong Jin-kyung, Cho Sae-ho, and Joo Woo-jae.

Chansung, Hwang Chan-sung

The youngest member of 2PM, Hwang Chan-sung, popularly known as Chansung, recently made the headlines for his casting in Netflix’s Bloodhounds Season 2 starring Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi in lead roles. Besides being a singer, rapper, songwriter, and member of 2PM, Chansung made his acting debut in 2011 with Dream High. He later also starred in popular K-dramas like What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, True to Love, So I Married an Anti-Fan, and My Holo Love, among others. Chansung is also set to make waves in the Japanese film industry with his role in the upcoming romance drama Hold Me Tighter Than Anyone.

Like fellow member Taecyeon, Chansung also departed from JYP Entertainment in 2021 but continues to be a part of 2PM. In the same year, he also announced his marriage plans to his longtime girlfriend and the couple also welcomed a daughter in 2022.
