Bukit Aman’s Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing (Amla) Investigation Unit chief Fazlisyam Abd Majid reportedly said Victor Chin was investigated and detained in December 2025 under Section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (Act 613) and thereafter was released on police bail.
Few days ago, the Home Minister was quoted to have said the authorities are tracking down Victor Chin.
Within the same period, the IGP echoed the same ie that Victor Chin is abroad and that the authorities are tracking him down with cooperation from their counterparts overseas.
Isn’t a person investigated under Section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA/Act 613) is restricted from travelling overseas?
As the Act involves severe penalties for illicit finance, investigation typically triggers travel restrictions, including passport retention, enforced by law enforcement or immigration authorities.
Is Victor Chin in Malaysia or overseas in London smoking cigars as alleged by a politician in a press conference recently?
Co-incidentally that politician `jumped the gun’ and came out denying vehemently that he was the Mr R that Victor Chin cited earlier only for the identity of Mr R to be someone else as revealed by another politician from PKR.
The deadline set by Victor Chin of 30 March 2026 for Mr R to return the RM9.5 million to him has since passed and the public is still waiting for Victor Chin to formally reveal who is Mr R.
Is the silence from Victor Chin on this meant Mr R has returned the RM9.5 million to him as he demanded from Mr R publicly?
If it has been returned, does Victor Chin plan to donate that sum of RM9.5 million to a fund to help those poor Iranians who have been bombed for fun and are now homeless and could be facing a humanitarian crisis soon if the bombardment were to continue unabated for another week?
While Malaysians are glued to the RM9.5 million questions, thousands of poor Iranians are dying due to no fault of theirs but to the greed of certain mankind.
