Where is going to be the hottest this week? Everything we know as heat health alerts remain in place

  • The UK is currently experiencing a third heatwave, with a long hot summer anticipated.
  • Amber and yellow heat health alerts are in effect across most of the UK until Wednesday 15 July, with amber warnings specifically for the West Midlands and South West.
  • Peak temperatures of 35.5C were recorded last Thursday in Wisley, Surrey.
  • Temperatures are expected to ease very slightly this week, but many areas will remain dry and very warm, especially in the South West, with a chance of thunderstorms developing.
  • Last month was confirmed as the hottest June on record for England and the second-warmest for Wales.
