  • The White House has cast doubt on reports suggesting a US strike in Iran may have hit an elementary school during its initial military action.
  • During a press briefing, press secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed claims concerning the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ school in Minab, which was struck on Saturday.
  • When asked directly about the incident, she stated: "Not that we know of," adding that the Pentagon is currently investigating. Ms Leavitt firmly asserted: "The United States of America does not target civilians."
  • Separately, Ms Leavitt confirmed that the US is not currently considering deploying ground troops to Iran. She also noted that Trump was weighing a US role in Iran after the conflict.
  • Ms Leavitt added the decision to initiate hostilities on Saturday morning was reportedly driven by various perceived threats to the US, guided by rare intelligence regarding supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s location.
