
- James Murray has been appointed as the new Health Secretary following Wes Streeting's resignation.
- Mr Murray had held the role as the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, and was previously the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury. He is also the MP for Ealing North, a post he has held sine 2019.
- In 2016, having advised Sadiq Khan during his successful selection and election campaigns to become Mayor of London, he was named as London's Deputy Mayor for Housing.
- In the role he championed a new 'fast track' approach to affordable housing requirements for development in London
- Mr Murray was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a long-term neurological condition that causes muscle weakness, but he has been symptom free since the early 2010s.
