PAPAR: Residents in Ulu Kaiduan claim they were forced to carry a coffin across the river a fortnight ago to bury a villager for fear of falling with the deceased should the bridge give way.
Sabah Native People’s Coalition (Agaras) President Michael Frederick said the bridge could not be used to carry heavy items as it was dilapidated and carrying the casket to the cemetery was quite risky.
“The villagers faced difficulties and had to cross the river with the coffin. The path becomes more difficult due to slippery stones that they had to walk on,” he said.
