A woman alleges police failed to help her husband after a crash in Melaka, claiming he was scolded and left injured before ending hospitalised.
PETALING JAYA: A woman has shared her grievances online, alleging that policemen on patrol duties were unhelpful and dismissive after her husband was involved in a serious road accident.
In a viral post on the social media platform Threads, the woman claimed the accident occurred in Bukit Katil, Melaka, at 3.48am.
While the exact date of the incident was not specified, the post was shared on March 31.
The woman further alleged that police personnel, who were travelling in a Honda Civic patrol car, failed to assist her husband and instead scolded him at the scene.
“Maybe you thought my husband was street racing, but he was not. Who street races alone? He was on his way back to my mother’s house at the time.
“My husband even ended up in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Thankfully, there were kind people who helped him…And when those people saw you, you just left,” she claimed in the post.
Following the accident, the husband reportedly sustained several severe injuries, including rib fractures, a shoulder fracture and a lung injury, alongside minor injuries to his arms and legs.
She also claimed that he required oxygen support while admitted to the ICU.
At the time of writing, the police have not issued an official response to these allegations.
