It’s been more than two weeks since Sterling Point premiered on Prime Video, and we already have some good news about season 2.
For those who still haven’t caught up with the drama on the island, Sterling Point follows a New York City teen who inherits her grandfather’s mysterious island in Canada. She sets out to uncover the truth behind the island — Sterling Point — and its connection with her dead mother. In the process, she discovers shocking secrets that change her life forever. In just eight episodes, Megan Park’s series has given us a love triangle, meaningful queer representation, and a heartfelt story about sisterhood.
But as it turns out, one season is hardly enough to uncover all of the secrets on the island. So naturally, Prime Video has renewed the YA drama for season 2, and we’re already imagining all the twists and turns that could unfold next.
While we don’t have the official synopsis or a premiere date for the upcoming season, we do have some demands. Here are five things we need to see in Sterling Point season 2.
What we want for Annie, Ramona and everyone else in Sterling Point season 2
Ramona embracing her big-city era
As Annie put it in the show’s finale, Ramona has spent her entire life being the “girl with a dead mom.” But she never got the chance to be the “girl with an alive dad.”
The season ends with Ramona waking up in New York, stepping into a life she had never once imagined for herself. And honestly, we are happy for her. In the upcoming season, we’d love to see her embrace her big-city era — figuring out who she is outside the life she has always known. Between losing her grandfather and finding a new family she never knew she had in the span of a few days, Ramona has been through more than enough. Perhaps season 2 can finally give her the chance to build a relationship with her biological father, Steven?
As for her love life, we are not quite sure how Oona will make her way to New York, but Ramona deserves to experience the city’s dating scene on her own terms. Hopefully, that means not getting involved in the kind of complicated love triangle her sister Annie is currently caught up in.
Who will Annie finally choose?

Speaking of Annie’s love life, Miss New York (No, we’re not talking about Jackie from My Life with the Walter Boys) has been in a complicated love triangle since she set foot on the island. On one side, there’s Ellis — the charming local boy who sweeps her off her feet and gives her the most swoon-worthy kisses in YA romance history. On the other, there is Rory — her childhood friend with enough romantic tension to complicate everything.
Annie ends the season with Ellis, but does that mean Rory is out of the picture? We don’t think so! With Annie choosing to stay on the island, her relationship with Ellis is just entering its first chapter, but Rory is not going anywhere, especially since his family’s money is tied to Sterling Point.
So yes, we’re expecting the love triangle to make it to season 2. Our only request? Let Annie pick one of them by the season finale — and yes, we’re rooting for Ellis.
Connor meeting his biological mother

Connor secretly set out to find his and Annie’s biological mother, and, surprisingly, he succeeded! Now the season has left us with some important questions: who is this woman, and why does she suddenly want to reconnect with Connor after all these years? Given his emotional volatility, her return could open up a whole new can of worms, one that Annie will inevitably find herself caught up in.
Also, can we please talk about Connor and Sully for a second? Was I the only one picking up on that chemistry? Because they were effortlessly cute together.
Oona and Maple living the life they deserve

Oona and Maple have never really had the easiest family life. With a mother who has shown little interest in being a parent, the sisters have essentially grown up with only each other. Between working multiple jobs and dealing with her breakup with Ramona, Oona is clearly having a hard time being the responsible older sister. These girls have been dealt some seriously bad cards, so we’re hoping season 2 finally gives them a few reasons to smile.
Thankfully, we might get to see more of their story. Speaking to Out, Park revealed, “I wish we had more time to really get into Maple and Oona’s backstory and their mom and their dynamic. If we’d had more time, that would have been something I would have loved to give more landscape to.”
Now that season 2 is officially happening, Park can finally make good on that wish.
A Goldie flashback

Goldie’s story is arguably one of the biggest mysteries that is yet to be unravelled. She was a young mother who adopted twins, returned to Sterling Point, and eventually died while giving birth to a secret child — Ramona. Everyone believed Ramona was Joe’s child. But it turns out, she was Steven’s daughter.
So at this point, we deserve a proper flashback into Goldie’s life just as much as her children do. What made her return to Sterling Point in the first place? Why did she have an affair with Joe? And, perhaps most importantly, what happened between Goldie and Steven that made him hide everything about Sterling Point from Annie and Connor? If season 2 gives us anything, we hope it’s Goldie’s side of the story.
