- Survivors of abuse by Mohamed Al-Fayed have urged Prime Minister Andy Burnham to intervene after losing faith in the Metropolitan Police investigation.
- The call follows a data breach in which the Met Police accidentally exposed the email addresses of over 140 victims in a monthly update email.
- Advocacy group No One Above has requested that the National Crime Agency take over the investigation and called for a full statutory public inquiry.
- The Met Police apologised for the human error and confirmed the Information Commissioner's Office has been notified while an internal review takes place.
- Operation Cornpoppy is investigating those who facilitated Al-Fayed's offending, with seven suspects interviewed under caution to date.
