Why are we united only when faced with a foreign adversary and not when politicians were dividing us all the time?

Jocelyn Chia, a female who works as a standup comedian and practicing her craft before the audience in her adopted country managed to do what no politicians ever managed to do in this country.

Binding and uniting all Malaysians regardless of race and religion.

Just search and look at the comments and TikToks on the internet and you will find that people from various races in this country are united in condemning her, whether for her superiority comparison between her country of birth and Malaysia or the ill fated plane.

Before this, the instances where Malaysians are united regardless of race and religion was when Lee Chong Wei and the doubles pair of Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying entered the finals of their respective badminton events in the Olympics, Azizulhasni `the Pocketman’ Awang entered the men's keirin final at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the national football team entered and won the final of the AFF Suzuki Cup in 2010.

The Oscars ceremony 2023 also managed to unite all Malaysians who were glued to the live telecast when Michelle Yeoh was announced as the Best Actress winner.

No politicians and Prime Ministers had ever united all Malaysians like all the above.

Except for a female, who in her routine in a land far far away from a group of audience housed in a comedy club, cracked a joke that was not even telecast and available on any TV channels in Malaysia but for the audience present.

Instead, politicians in this country are more interested and inclined to create more divisions and chasms amongst the various races than to unite and benefit the country from the diversity in the country.

Time and again, when politicians are lost in finding solutions to problems in the country, they will take out the race card and start baiting their respective supporters as a diversion and to maintain their support base.

Unfortunately, we still have segments of the ordinary rakyat that takes the bait and believes in those hate-spewing messages that are bound to raise the ire of the less fortunate in every segment of society.

All those charlatans posing as politicians and leaders in this country are so divisive in their approach that anything they utter or suggest or propose is only for their benefits and survival and not for the general well-being and benefit of the ordinary rakyat and the country.

If the ordinary rakyat were to view all these charlatans to be like Jocelyn Chia every time they utter or suggest or propose anything, this country will be united.

A country united utilising the strengths from the diversity that it offers is something that it needs desperately to climb out from the quicksand that the politicians put us into.

If the country hopes to get out from the quicksand real quick, it needs the collective and collaborative efforts of every single Malaysian, regardless of race and religion, able bodied or not.

PM10 has already sounded out a dire warning to all Malaysians recently.

The country cannot afford to have the luxury of time. It is now or never. Not the next generation.

Not waiting for the next change of government due to backroom deals or maneuvers perpetually being touted as happening behind the scenes.

Let’s make a conscious and collective decision to support every effort to pull the country out from the quicksand that it is in now.

When the 4th PM make a claim in 2010 at the General Conference for the Support of Al-Quds that there is evidence that 911 could have been staged where more than 3,000 lives were lost, US authorities did not talk about extraditing and charging him on US soil for insulting the families of those 3,000 lives that were lost on that day.

Then in Oct 2020, the 4th PM wrote in his blog, CheDet, that Muslims have a right to be angry and to kill millions of French people for the massacres of the past.

Maybe there was a huge public outcry in France following that but again, the authorities did not talk about extraditing and charging him on French soil.

Both the comments made the news in Malaysia, but to the US and French governments, they probably viewed the comments made irrelevant to them and it was pointless for them to dedicate their resources to pursue and investigate such spurious claims.

Compared to Jocelyn Chia, who makes a living doing jokes and to an enclosed group of people, the claims made by the 4th PM was heard, reported and viewed globally.

So Malaysians, let’s view and treat all the charlatans posing as leaders in this country as the Jocelyn Chia or a poorer version of her.

Let’s unite as Malaysians and condemn those charlatans like what you were doing to Jocelyn Chia now for all their divisive attempts.

It is the desire of every Malaysian to be united but not when we are faced with something foreign only.

Let us unite and call out those charlatans posing as leaders in Malaysia, who are bent on dividing the various races in this country solely for their own benefits.
