Malaysia to “welcome” deported Palestinian “militants” released from Israeli prisons…?!
Firebrand human rights activist and lawyer Siti Kasim has unleashed a scathing attack on PM Anwar Ibrahim’s government citing a recent foreign news report which stated that 60 Palestinian prisoners were to be deported to Turkiye, Qatar, Pakistan - and Malaysia!
According to the news report, each of the four countries would host 15 Palestinian prisoners, adding that there they are currently staying in a hotel in Egypt while awaiting deportation.
In a typically fiery post in her popular YouTube channel, Siti had expressed her disgust and disappointment at the Madani government for being willing to accept what she believed were militants and terrorists who had been sentenced to long prison terms for their involvement in atrocities ranging from planting bombs and murders to suicide bomb attacks.
Not mincing words, she also lashed out at some of her critics who had labelled her as “sick and heartless” for not showing sympathy to the “poor” Palestinians, adding that the country doesn't need terrorists and violent people here.
Siti further rebutted their contention that the “prisoners” had actually fought for their rights and that they were kidnapped and held without trial in prison, pointing out that some of them were clearly involved in terrorism activities.
Moreover, according to her, it was somewhat ironic that the supporters of the government's latest controversial move appeared to be oblivious to the plight of those in this country who have been arrested, held without charge or prosecution under the dreaded former Internal Security Act (ISA) and the current Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (SOSMA).
She then went on to ask her critics mockingly: “So, it was okay for Malaysians to be arrested and held without trial here, but it was not okay if it happened to the Palestinians?”
And is it okay for them (the Palestinian prisoners) to kill other people just because they were “fighting for their rights”…?
The famed, no-nonsense Orang Asli rights activist also vented her anger at the government and at the alleged mentality and mindset of some people in this country who seemed to see things through the “lenses” of being Muslims only!
She then warned the government that they may not know the true background of some of the deportees and asked: “What if our country ends up receiving the worst of the worst (of the terrorists)?
Is Anwar the prime minister of Palestine?
Incidentally, this is not the first time Siti has questioned Anwar’s government over what may be viewed by some in this country as “preferential” treatment for the Palestinians; in fact, last August he had caused a stir after flying in 127 Palestinians, including children, into the country from Gaza for medical treatment at local hospitals.

Then last month his government had sparked another furore after pledging to help build a school, hospital and mosque as an initial effort to assist in the reconstruction of Gaza which has been ravaged by war.
Coming back to the current controversy, Siti had ominously called on the people to “start worrying” and asked: “Why is our government bringing “rubbish” into our country instead of bringing in scientists and artists? She had also signed off somewhat despondently: “Where will the Madani government’s latest move get us?”
In conclusion, perhaps, what many concerned citizens may want to know is: if previously, injured Palestinians were brought in for medical treatment on humanitarian grounds, on exactly what grounds are these prisoners, serving long jail time for terrorism-related activities, being admitted into this country? And, what exactly will they be doing here?
