A Malaysian student, who is only in Standard 6 proudly showed that he failed his English test, scoring a mere 26%.
In his viral TikTok post, the student seems unbothered by the score and doesn’t show any concern about how to perform better in the next test. To the boy, it “makes sense” to fail the subject, and here’s why he thinks so.
“Why did I fail my English test? Because we’re Malays, not British.”
In another post, the student shared a subject which he deemed a must to pass – Islamic Studies, to which he scored 68%.
“I passed my Islamic Studies test because I’m a Muslim,” he remarked.
In other posts, the student also shared his interest in the infamous modified bicycle – Basikal Lajak.
Previously, another Malaysian man bragged about his lack of SPM qualification, saying that he could still earn RM3,500 a month despite never sitting for the exam. With more content about skipping studies emerging on the Internet, we can only imagine the harm it can do to future generations.
“When you’re in Form 5, you might change your mind”
Social media users were disappointed to see the young kid discarding his studies and not taking action to improve himself academically. Many expressed their concerns in the comment sections, fearing what the student might become in the future.
“When you’re in Form 4 or Form 5, you might retract your words.”
“Yes, you’re not British, but you still have ample time to fix and pass your test. When you’re in secondary school, you will speak English a lot more. Don’t regret it.”
“Don’t be surprised to find out how important English is when you’re abroad.”
“This is the mindset of someone who will sell snacks or burgers by the roadside in the future.”
If you’re still in school, keep in mind that all subjects are important and it’s not just about passing the tests, but the knowledge you consume.
