Weirdkaya published a weird story on 5 March about a local Muslim preacher who expresd his displeasure with Korean group BLACKPINK for holding the ‘BORN PINK’ concert in Malaysia during severe floods in the country. He even “prayed” for a flood at the concert venue itself.

The BLACKPINK’s KL concert was held at e Axiata Stadium in Bukit Jalil on 4.3.2023

However, preacher PU Syed was quoted by Weirdkaya questioning why the show was allowed to proceed while Johor and Pahang were experiencing severe flooding.

Weirdkaya reported that the preacher in his Facebook post stated that since he could not stop the concert, he could only “pray” for a flood to happen at the concert venue.

Weirdkaya quoted his Facebook as follows; “As Johor, Pahang, and Sarawak are grieving due to floods, the Black Pink concert still proceeds! Calamities come one after another, yet humans still indulge in vice wherever possible…We are powerless to stop it… We can only pray for the floods to happen to the Axiata Stadium in Bukit Jalil so that they can perform in the flood!”

He made the statement before the event took place but the Almighty did not grant his prayers. There was no flooding at Axiata Stadium that night.

I would like to ask the Preacher, why would he want bad things to happen to innocent people?

Why would he involve God in his ill intent to bring misery to people who are young and yearning for entertainment in a country that is deprived of such events during the covid years?

Doesn't he know that the floods in Johor or Pahang and Black Pink concert are mutually exclusive events?

Doesn't he know the concert waa planned last year and were not aware that floods would happen days before the event?

But more importantly does he know that Islam like all religions does not allow anyone to pray for bad things to happen to other fellow human beings?

Mufti Menk @muftimenk on Twitter reminds us "Don't wish ill on others. It can come back to you in the most unimaginable way. Always want good for people & you’ll end up being blessed. Cultivate a good heart. Purify your thoughts. Remember, the Almighty loves those who do good." https://twitter.com

"Ismail ibn Musa Menk is a Zimbabwean Islamic scholar, best known as Mufti Menk. He is the Grand Mufti of Zimbabwe's Muslim community, which makes up roughly 1% of the country's total population, and head of the fatwa department for the Council of Islamic Scholars of Zimbabwe."

If we may urge the preacher to heed Mufti Menk's fatwa to pray for safety of people in flooded areas and forget about wishing bad on those young innocents who are out attending concerts.

They mean no harm to anyone.

So, wish them well and pray that they too would be guided to the right path by the Almighty.
