- Andy Burnham emphasised it was "no accident" the Ukrainian president was his first international visitor since entering No10.
- The move was intended to highlight the Government’s continued backing for Kyiv under his leadership.
- Hosting President Zelensky at a naval base in Portsmouth, the Prime Minister affirmed that the UK could be counted on "for as long as it takes".
- He also told reporters of his plan to visit Ukraine "soon", but offered no indication of when this would occur.
