Former Union minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani on Thursday said her party would bring the crime situation under control in Punjab if voted to power in the state during the Assembly elections slated for early next year.
Addressing a gathering of traders and industrialists here, she said her party would usher in a wave of development works across the state on forming the government.
She was speaking during a Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sammelan in Zirakpur. It was held under the leadership of district BJP president Sanjeev Vasisht. During the programme, Irani highlighted the 12-year journey of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. She said the BJP-led Centre was continuously working to raise living standards and implementing several beneficial schemes for women. “New industries are being set up in the country so that employment opportunities could be created and traders could get a better environment for growth,” she said.
Irani claimed that farmers were being provided better facilities and financial assistance was being transferred directly to their bank accounts by the government.
On the NEET paper leak, she said strict action would be taken against those guilty.
