we are all trying here season 2 k-drama

We Are All Trying Here, Netflix’s emotional slice-of-life K-drama, concludes by bringing resolution to years of regret, jealousy and emotional conflict. Rather than ending with a major cliffhanger, the finale focuses on healing relationships and personal growth, giving most of its characters complete arcs. Naturally, many viewers are now wondering whether the story could continue with another season. Here is everything we know so far about a possible season 2 of We Are All Trying Here.

Directed by Cha Young-hoon and written by Park Hae-young, the Netflix series follows Hwang Dong-man (played by Koo Kyo-hwan), an aspiring filmmaker who struggles with envy and feelings of failure after spending two decades unable to make his directorial debut. His life slowly begins to change after meeting producer Byeon Eun-a (played by Go Youn-jung), who understands his emotional struggles better than anyone else.

Spoilers ahead!

Netflix has not officially announced a second season of We Are All Trying Here.

However, unlike many Korean dramas that intentionally leave storylines unresolved, the finale of We Are All Trying Here largely wraps up its emotional conflicts. Dong-man finally debuts as a successful director, Eun-a begins healing emotionally, and Dong-man reconciles with Gyeong-se after years of bitterness.

Because the story reaches a natural emotional conclusion, the chances of a second season currently appear relatively low. While another season is always possible if the creators wish to revisit the characters later in life, the ending feels designed as a complete story rather than the beginning of a larger universe.

What happens in the finale of the K-drama We Are All Trying Here?

In the finale of the romantic series, Dong-man and Eun-a continue confronting the emotional wounds they have carried for years. Eun-a slowly begins overcoming the emotional suppression that triggered her frequent nosebleeds, while Dong-man finally repairs his fractured friendship with Gyeong-se.

Meanwhile, Gyeong-se decides to stop chasing validation and focus on writing honestly on his own terms. Jin-man also receives emotional closure after learning that his missing daughter Yeong-sil has been found alive in Finland.

Dong-man’s biggest challenge arrives during the production of his film Weather Maker. Although the filming process becomes chaotic and tensions rise between Dong-man and actor Kang-sik, the movie is ultimately completed successfully and receives strong reactions at its premiere.

By the end of the finale, Dong-man wins the Best New Director award at the Korean Film Awards. Surrounded by the people who stayed beside him throughout his struggles, he finally achieves the dream he spent twenty years chasing.
