Will there be more warm weather? Here’s everything we know

  • Milder weather is forecast to return to the UK following a rainy start to the week, with temperatures expected to reach 24C.
  • Despite the more unsettled conditions, all of Wales and most of England remain in drought as sustained precipitation is required to reverse the drought conditions.
  • Tuesday is set to be the wettest day of the week for the south of England, whereas Manchester is expected to experience showers from Thursday afternoon.
  • Moving further into the week, temperatures are expected to reach 23C in London by Saturday, with highs of 19C in Cardiff and 17C in Manchester, before climbing to 24C in the capital on Monday.
  • It comes after the Met Office confirmed the UK recorded its hottest summer since records began, with a mean temperature of 16.5C across June, July, and August.
