British tennis player Emma Raducanu has revealed why she “couldn’t say no” to Andy Murray when he asked her to play mixed doubles at this year’s Wimbledon.
Speaking to BBC Sport on Wednesday (3 July), after making it through to the next round in the women’s singles competition, the 21-year-old said: “My doubles record is not exactly the longest or most vast, but I couldn’t say no.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, it’s a dream of mine since I was a young girl, since watching the Olympics.
“Andy is a hero to all of us.
“For me, it’s a real gift and an honour and something I could never say no to.”
