
With a large talent pool, India has the ability to march forward as a global economic leader Delhi Lt Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu said on Friday. Addressing industrialists at a reception hosted by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry on “Transforming Growth through Innovation, Vision and Sustainability”, he said it was our responsibility to ensure that the future generations inherit India that is prosperous and environmentally and economically secure.
“Development is multi-dimensional… it’s about creating opportunities for future generations. Governance must touch everyone and create conditions where individuals can achieve full potential. Trust is most valuable asset that a leader can possess. Leadership is about empowering others and ensuring institutions continue to perform effectively even after a leader leaves,” he said.
Outlining the Centre’s push to ensure that the country becomes a developed nation by 2047, he said transformation could be brought about by harnessing human capital in the right direction.
“Infrastructure development will continue to propel infrastructure and growth. Diversity and social cohesion will remain key strengths of India,” he said.
Earlier, Karan Gilhotra, Chair, PHD Chambet of Commerce and Industry, Punjab, said that transforming growth and vision was central to India’s growth, when economies being reshaped by changing geopolitics. “We are witnessing innovation across sectors, but we need government support as we march to become a self-sustainable economy,” he said.
